So stop fooling around with your golden asset. You are not invincible, even if you are young and carefree. Pay attention to your health. Guard your body from the ill effect of poor food and overdose on alcohol, sodas or drugs. Stay on top of your diet. Be selective about your food choices. Dare to go against the norm. Honor your body, your temple with love not abuse.
What does “diet” mean here? I use the word diet to mean a eating style, not necessarily “going on a diet” and eating a restricted way for a certain period of time in order to lose weight.
Building a Strong Foundation in Your Daily Diet
How well do you eat? When I ask this question, the most common response is big sighs and furtive looks. Not to mention the feeling of guilt. And I get it. It’s not easy to eat a healthy diet and to put clean and green food in your body.
The norm is to have a muffin and a cup of coffee for breakfast and to hit the bars for cocktail hour in order to social with co-workers or friends. The norm is to eat sugar and to drink alcohol in order to be … what? merry? accepted into friendship circles or be let into workplace politics? I say no to that easily now but boy have I experienced it. I mean, think about it, I am from Iran. Have you seen our food? It is to die for … and eventually it does kill you if you overdose on it. Food, and eating lots of it it is so ingrained into the Persian culture that moving away from it makes you an outcast, a weirdo, a looney, in the social circles and that’s not fun Nobody wants that including me.
So what do you do when the pressure from society, friends, co-workers and the environment around you does not exactly promote a “healthy diet”? Well, you start with building a strong foundation. If you can’t eat well at every single meal, then you eat well at every single meal that you CAN. You start with what you can totally control and it starts at home.
The question then becomes how to build a strong foundation so that you can offset the occasional times you stray from it? I’ve been reading health books and following the new trend of green and clean and raw diets and vegan diets for a few years now. Don’t worry. I also have had dozens of periods where I simply ate what I desired as I traveled the world and tasted delicious and sinful cuisines in large portions.
To be honest, I don’t fret about that anymore. I just focus on the strong healthy foundation and apply it whenever and wherever I can. What is YOUR foundation of a healthy diet? What are your staples of must-have healing therapeutic nutritious foods?

Making Green Drinks A Part of Your Robust Healthy Diet
As you know, I am a total juicing junkie. With two books on the subject, a growing juicing clinic that would welcome you with open arms, and our free 21 juicing tips, plus my own daily habit of juicing, I can say that juicing is truly my first love.
But guess what? We are not monogamous in this relationship, baby! I have other loves and green smoothies are coming back to the surface fast and furiously. I have been experimenting with both green juice and green smoothie for over 5 years now and find each to give me unique benefits. My suggestion: add both to your diet starting today.
If you are not making a green drink every day, you are making it very challenging to get all your daily green potent nutrients. AND you are missing out on delicious divine hydrating yummy drinks. Why? Check out one of my juicing interviews with Tony Teegarden to learn why.

Making Up for Bad Foods with A Clean Green Diet Cleanse
We all have intense periods of poor food choices. Mine comes when I am traveling the world. There are sadly very few juice bars or green smoothie stands and the availability of raw green clean foods around the world is still a challenge. So I make up for it with going on a super green and clean diet when I am home. I eat raw for days at a time. I make all my food from scratch including say using the vegetable pulp from the juice for soup broth. I eat at home. I revive and revitalize my body and bring it back to harmony.
And it works. After a few days of juicing and making green smoothies and loading up on raw vegetables, I am back to a state of complete happiness with my body. I invite you to do the same. Set up a routine and stick to it when you are home and on your own food choices and schedule.
Every time you put green and clean food in your body, it counts. It counts in the units of health, vitality and longevity and it reinforces your enthusiasm to keep doing this. Be kind to your body. Be considerate of what you consume. Be conscious of what you eat and drink. And be smart about your health.
