The Identity Question: What Do You Think of Yourself?

It’s not so much about doing all the time.

There is more involved in getting to those goals, those dreams, those ambitions, and those aspirations you have for yourself.

There is no question you are a busy person. You are doing doing doing all the time and if you are driven and successful already then you’re very familiar with the “doing” part of the work.

But what about thinking?

If I were to ask you how do you think about your business, how do you think about your career,

How do you see yourself in that realm and in that context what would you say?

Most people most of us me included we get so busy we do not pause to think about the whole perspective we have. For instance, if you are a professional, you offer professional services such as coaching and consulting and you’re so busy setting up your website and creating content and talking to prospects and trying to close them and delivering the coaching…I mean there is an endless list of things you get to do in business. Endless! And it is possible that you haven’t stopped to think what is it that I am really doing here.

How am I serving my clients.

Why am I the coach should come to.

What is the benefit they get from working with me.

What is it that sets me and my brand apart from others.

These questions often just ask you to contemplate to simply sit and think, maybe write, maybe just take a walk and be detached from the doing so that you can get clarity in your mind on how you see yourself.

What it is that you are all about because this is the part that attracts your clients to want to work with you. At the end of the day for a coach or a consultant or a professional person working with people, it isn’t about a fancy website.

It isn’t about how many blog posts you have out there. It isn’t about your fancy marketing strategy. It is about how you see yourself and how you portray that message to those who come to you for your help.

Because the only thing your prospect wants to know is whether you can help them and that is something you will need to communicate. You will need to articulate that through powerful questions and through your own understanding of what they need help with. That doesn’t happen with all the other stuff you are doing.

So take the time to do the right level of thinking. The right level of questions you need to ask yourself so you are clear on what kind of role you play in your business, in your career and your profession.

How you want people to view you and how you need to deliver that message with all of your presence, with your communication and with your actions.
