Unleashing Your Voice with Sally Morgan – Interview Questions:

1. Sally, I found you when searching for ways to improve my voice; it’s such a big part of my life now. I do lots of interviews, speaking, coaching and this show of course, and I feel self-conscious about my voice. I yearn to sound elegant and deep and beautiful but I don’t know where to begin…

Do you see this emotional trend in your students and would you share with us one or two things we can do to help us FEEL better about our voices?

2. You work with singers, speakers and professionals to improve both their speaking and their singing. What are some of the results or changes in their life from having a better voice, or that “professional polish” and “vocal empowerment” as you call it?

3. With respect to people who want to just be better communicators and speakers, what would you say is the “rudest” awakening when they start working with you? We make so many assumptions in life – we are bound to make a few around our voice. Can you bust some myths here for us?

4. I was watching one of your videos and I love LOVE how you say “unleash that voice that’s trapped inside”! Can you help us visualize that better and relate to the “unleashing” part? And are there exercises or tools that you recommend.

5. Sally, now I’d love for you to do a LIVE critique of my voice here on the air. This is a true testament to vulnerability, I know, but I’ve wanted to overcome it and what better time and place than with you and my listeners… I will embrace whatever you throw at me!

6. Our final question: I want to leave our listeners with actionable steps. What is one (or two) things that our listeners can do RIGHT AWAY after this show toward becoming “vocally empowered”?.

Beautiful show and I loved LOVED Sally – she was very humble and down to earth even if she has worked with super successful people. Great choice having her on your show and I’m watching her YouTube channel now!

Love Sally! Fell in love with her first video and now I really am learning how to improve my voice from her technique – think I might need to get her books too. Thanks Melly.

Hi Farnoosh; I’m really enjoying the interviews. However, with this one I wasn’t quite sure how it would apply to me in the beginning. but i had faith in you and listened all the way to the end. Her advice about body positioning and stage fright were very helpful. and i was impressed by your courage at asking to have her evaluate your voice during the interview and then participating in the exercises she gave you. thanks again and take care, max

hi farnoosh; as i have grown as a person over the last year or so, I find that i can learn from every person and experience as long as i keep my ears and heart open. as a native texan, i’m sure there are things i could improve as well. and your courage was rewarded. your listeners know that you really mean it when you say you are helping us develop our communication skills. i’ve been going on a radio show for three weeks now. the friends that have listened say i’m doing well, but each week they have suggestions. this week it was to mention a specific item i have for sale and to remind people that i list equipment worldwide. i remembered that but had to be prompted to mention the website and contact details. But each time i do it i get better. i’m sure that’s the way it is with public speaking and stage fright. the interviews are great, keep them up, max

Max, you are doing great …. where is this radio show? Can I listen to it too? Yes, you want to have all your information about contact information memorized and ready to go – but we live and learn. Keep it up and sending you lots of encouragement!

Hi farnoosh; thanks for the encouragement. I feel like i have done well enough. Its a weekly show on the brian the hammer program where he spotlights small businesses. They posted requests on a linked in group I’m subscribed to, and I decided to go on the show. Its every friday. I’ve been on three times now and plan to do it as a regular weekly activity just like sending out my email newsletter. I doubt it will bring me sales, but it is getting my name out there, bringing in web traffic, and teaching me about promoting myself and my business. And it can’t hurt with stage fright either. smile the first two weeks i got in the website and contact details but didn’t mention items for sale or that i sell around the world. this week i remembered those two points and had to be prompted for the website. but once reminded i got it in several times. and i wasn’t sure i should include the link, but knowing how good you are to us; i shouldn’t have even given it a second thought. Here is the link to the show. http://www.blogtalkradio.com/brian-the-hammer-jackson and just click either of the links that have salloot to small business in the titles. I’m on somewhere in the first 15 to 30 minutes each time. thanks again for the interviews. i’ve decided to make armond’s fall forward my montra from now on. Take care, Max
