It is the standard definition of success when you set out goals to accomplish – and turn around to do just the same. For Blogworld 2010, I more than achieved all my goals, so fortunate was I to meet the perfect people who pushed me in the directions I meant to go before leaving the conference. Funny enough, a sense of Personal Success was shoved aside – it even became slightly irrelevant – when true winners showed up and in one quick minute, stole the spotlight and all my attention along with them. These winners were Inspiration, Community, and Knowledge. Inspiration from listening to the fantastic speakers, Community from being in the company of amazing bloggers and friends, and Knowledge from the educational sessions.
The next 3 posts are dedicated to all of you who made my first Blogworld so incredibly memorable and special, those of you who could not make it and were sorely missed, and to the rest of my beloved readers who – while having no interest in blogging – read Prolific Living for inspiration and tips to apply to their own lives.
You are reading Part 1: The Inspiration of a 3-Part Blogworld 2010 series.
Good speakers captivate your attention for the length of their session but great speakers captivate your heart forever. It is the quotes from them I share here below. As I write and read these quotes, the voice of the speaker and their exact delivery flash before me. These were sublime moments during Blogworld where all complexities and challenges stepped aside and made room for hope, inspiration, and possibilities. But how could I capture for you the amazing story telling abilities of Darren Rowse, the the incredible insight and brilliance of Brian Clark, the sincerity and utter candor of Sonia Simone, the true simplicity and common sense of Leo Babauta, the hilarious and powerful deliveries of Scott Stratten, the uncommon success and genius of Scott Ginsberg and the unforgettable Penn Jillette (of Penn & Teller).
Delivery or not, their content was real, practical, useful, simple – so simple! – and very smart. Here they are, may you be moved at least once and inspired to action many times from reading the best 76 quotes from my experience. (Anything in gray italics text inside parenthesis is my editorial comment!)
All photography and editing by Prolific Living – with regrets that I did not have my camera for Scott Stratten’s keynote.

You were sorely missed particularly when I was reminded yet again of the power behind a tangible human connection

This is so extremely helpful Farnoosh! Thanks so much for posting this – very helpful for those of us who were not able to make it to BWE. I love you have the quotes as it helps us imagine that moment. Just retweeted and I look forward to Parts 2 and 3!
Celes, so happy it was worth it! My arms is killing me from so much typing and formatting but somehow, adrenalin from all that inspiration pushed me through. Not only do I plan to see you next year, I seriously think you should put in a proposal to speak and give a session….You could even be over-qualified in some ways! You are most welcome…..!!
Amazing photographs (I mean, really, WOW) and I love the idea of sharing the quotes you captured at each. I totally agree these were some amazing talks and well worth sharing. Now I won’t need to transcribe my notes–I’ll just reference this handy post.
Wonderful, dear friend. Looking forward to the rest of the series!
Hi Jen, thank you so much – I am still a brand new photographer so all credit goes to Canon 50D for knowing to make even the newbie shine! You can reference the post all you like but do transcribe as I am sure we each have different takeaways! So lovely to have met you and the rest of the series coming later this week, I promise!
Dear Farnoosh,
I can’t thank you enough for sharing these wonderful thoughts and insights of these fabulous celebrity bloggers! I can feel your excitement of being part of such an inspiring, valuable and ‘eventful’ event where bloggers from all over the world met. Wow! What an opportunity to connect with so many minds and hearts!
Yes, I am totally with you on the relevance of human-connection (as you wrote in your previous post) . No matter how much we reach out to each other through the cyber world; the real world, and one real meeting can make a world of a difference. And, with just one meeting, the relationship can acquire a whole new dimension.
Thank you so very much for sharing the crux of the event. I will be eagerly waiting for the next two posts in this series.
Much love to you…
Dear wonderful sweet Rashmie, I told myself if I can inspire one person who missed these key note speakers and fantastic bloggers, that it is worth the effort of taking these notes and sending them out and you are making me smile big time. I do hope you make it to the next Blogworld. The human connection, there is nothing like it – and yet, we make such a huge bond online that when we do meet, it’s as though we have known each other for a long time! Rest of the series coming this week! Much love and thanks to you for sharing your beautiful thoughts!
Farnoosh, this rocks!!! – having been to each of those sessions, I can tell you that you truly captured the essence of what they were talking about. Sometimes quotes are taken out of context and we miss the message the speaker intended – not in this post though – you hit it.
I love the quotes you selected and your photos are fantastic (not that I’m surprised you took great photos) – but truly fantastic.
Aileen, my new twin sister, you my dear took that first photo – remember? I oughta say, photography by Prolific Living with great assistance from Kaizen Vision
! I did work hard to make sure I filled the obvious gap in some of the context here – so I am so glad you validated that with your perspective. Thank you. As you know, the moments they shared with us was truly fantastic. Here’s hoping we can contain the inspiration for another year! Thanks for being here and sharing your thoughts, dear Aileen!
Farnoosh,
What a fantastic event this conference sounds like!! And I can just see that right there in your amazing smile!!
Thanks for sharing all these wonderful bits of information!
Lance, you were so missed – especially since we run in similar circles. It was fantastic and you are very welcome. I am glad you enjoyed it, especially since inspiration is your specialty, thanks for dropping by!
Farnoosh, thank you!
As one of those bloggers not able to make it there (long term commitment to family wedding the same weekend – photos soon on Facebook), I am so grateful to you for sharing all the gems above.
Seems like I missed quite a party. I shall be there next year for sure:-)
Love and gratitude
Arvind
Don’t worry Arvind, we gossiped plenty about you and didn’t let your absence stop us
! Hey you did miss a big event and more so, you were missed. Definitely next year. Thanks for dropping by – hope you enjoyed the wedding – I love to attend an Indian wedding at least once!! – thanks for your comment, Arvind!
Thanks Farnoosh for gossiping about me in Vegas. No wonder my ears were burning all weekend at the wedding!
Definitely there next year.
As for attending an Indian wedding, I shall invite you to mine one day soon:-)
PS How is your cousin who is single?!
My cousin is fine and doing marvelously! I think she has decided that the single life is too fun to give up! Gosh I can’t disagree with her…
!
Til next year then, Arvind. We will have heaps of fun together, maybe even get some work done next year!
Farnoosh, so happy to read your blog, thanks to Jen Gresham. I am subscribing because I don’t want to miss the rest of this series. My fave was Leo’s, #57. As a new blogger I feel the need to ‘monetize’ but as an artist I need a neat and uncluttered space. Content, Content, Content.
Thanks! Nice to meet you.
Barbara, welcome to Prolific Living – love having you as my newest subscriber yet, and thanks for Jen for the shout-outs. I checked your site and really enjoyed the first glance. I am right there with you on Leo’s advice. Come back again and nice to meet you too!
It’s genuinely scary how much personal development advice comes in handy to describe what makes a great blog great! So many of those quotes could’ve been taken from my blog, for instance!
Good to see that the fundamentals of living will apply in the blogging world as well
Nice collection of quotes and I wish I could’ve been at BWE!
Hi Brett,
!
So many of those “quotes” could’ve come from your blog? How is that possible when they were original from the speakers?
But the underlying advice is fundamental and it is such common sense that it’s very possible we have heard it before – we just have to apply it.
Perhaps next year at BWE then? Thanks for your comment!
Farnoosh,
Thanks for bringing back to the “goods” and sharing it with all of us. This is a fantastic approach. I can’t thank you enough. It’s like a little slice of being there. Here are a few of my favorite quotes.
3. “If your market is People, if your niche is Human Beings, then you need to be on social media.”
7. “Blog with passion. Passion spreads.”
13. “Kill your pop-ups!”
56. “My measure of success is that I am helping people.”
57. “What does your reader want? They want good content, inspiration, a laugh.
Dearest Sandra, how you were missed! I was thinking of you when collecting these! Oh #3 – the delivery was hilarious, imagine him emphasizing the words People and Human Beings really loud…..in response to people who tell him, “Scott, our market is NOT in social media…”! Should’ve added that…! Thank you for dropping by, dear Sandra and come back for rest of the series!
Hi Farnoosh.
Looks like Blogworld wasn’t worth it for you. Maybe next time you will find a bigger conference.
It is quite cool that you got this many quotes. I don’t think I have seen someone take away this many quotes from any speeches. Usually you just see one or two in a follow-up article. Also, as a side note Darren’s last name is spelled Rowse.
Your pictures with descriptions are nice-looking and informational.
I want more people who have some of your traits in our society. Can’t mess with Farnoosh folks.
Hi Armen, a most terrible time I had – I am never going back to Blogworld
)!
Just kidding, it was a blast and I am glad not only that you enjoyed the post but that you are pointing out my embarrassing misspelling – And as always, you boost my ego so much, dear Armen, nice to see you here. I really thought I might see you in Vegas, seeing how close you are…..next year perhaps?
Farnoosh,
There is a chance I will be there next year. I can’t say at this time, but possibly, possibly not as well. I don’t really have any information regarding it but wanted to get back to you on this question.
Great to hear it Armen – it is so close to you in distance and it’d be great to meet you. Here’s hoping it will work out for 2011 Blogworld!
Farnoosh,
Wow, sounds like a lot of learning at fun at the blog expo! I am so envious and happy you got to meet many inspiring people, including my favorite Leo of Zen Habits. I can see the Genuine smile on his face on the picture. Lot of learning in these quotes!
Like Armen’s said, Darren’s last name is Rowse! Can’t wait for part 2 and 3!
Hi Preeti dear, yes yes, correcting Darren’s photo edits right now and the rest are corrected, thanks so much for keeping me honest you two! And Leo was wonderful and genuine in person. I really enjoyed his session. Glad you enjoyed these quotes, Preeti. I will be working on Parts 2 and 3 this week!
Farnoosh,
I am simply impressed at how you remember all the quotes from the talk with so many things that going on. Rowse is unique last name so I would have phonetically spelled the same way too.
Thanks for sharing, I feel like I was part of it, reading yours, srini, Annabel, and Kikolani’s posts. I am sure I am missing many other gems.
Hope you get rest, Did Andy enjoy the blog world?
Preeti
Preeti, I took lots of good notes on my iPad and yes there was so much going on! The idea about the Blogworld series hit me early on during the conference so I prepared for it. So very happy you enjoyed this and Andy did enjoy Vegas and the social aspect of Blogworld in which he participated with us! See you there next year!
Farnoosh,
Glad to hear that Andy also enjoyed. You prepared so well for blog world!
Farnoosh, this is just such a treasure! It makes me sooo wish I was there, but I’m happy I get to benefit, even if I wasn’t. It sounds like these keynote talks were pretty amazing. I think I’ll probably have to read this over and over to really soak in all the good stuff that’s here.
If I had to pick one that really grabbed me, it would be 64. “I don’t have a website! I have a destination!” from Scott. Of course, I don’t know the context he used it in, but to me that really said, my blog is not my product. I’m at point A and it’s my point B. Everything I write about is a little piece of the journey as I progress towards that destination.
And of course, I really love the pictures!
Adrienne, next year for sure – plenty of time to plan and it will be even more fun. Scott (Ginsberg) was very original and I loved him to bits. He was talking about attracting people to your site and positioning yourself and your brand not just as another website, but a place, a location, – a destination! – for people to reach….It gives it so much more power and meaning, all of which is relevant and better understood by the words “destination” – well anyway, that is my takeaway – I hope he doesn’t show up here arguing with me….or actually, I do hope he shows up here, he can argue or agree, I don’t care. Glad you enjoyed the photos too!
Ahhh, that makes sense! I definitely like that too. Rather than thinking of a blog or website like a book, magazine, or other place to get information…think of it as an awesome place to be! Very cool.
Thank you for reminding me to make sure they are all in context….I read them over and over but I may have missed a few! Most stand well on their own though, so great and complete they were, Adrienne. Next year, we listen together in person!
Wonderful post and spectacular quotes Farnoosh! So glad you had a blast at BlogWorld…and so sad I couldn’t make it! Hopefully next year we’ll both make it and can connect. Excellent, excellent stuff!
Warmest
C
Hi Cori, I don’t know why you ended up in the spam folder – I will have to have a chat with Akismet. Thanks so much for your comment. You shall be there next year and we will connect in person. I can’t wait. So so happy you enjoyed this post and great to hear from you – thank you for the encouragement, Cori!
I know you like to travel light and yet look at all the wonderful stuff you brought back to share with us all. Many, many thanks for packing up these gems and placing them here.
So sweet and so beautiful are your words, dear Emma….You are very welcome. It makes me so happy that these inspiring quotes went a long way. Thank you for enjoying them!
“I struck a chord with people. The chord I struck is to simplify – and with the world as chaotic as it is, people were looking for it!”
What an amazing post you have put toegther, thank you so much for sharing! The above quote is what really got me at the strings and reminds me, that if you truly harness your authentic power and purpose you can really add value to people all around you.
Thanks again for this post =)
Thank you for dropping by and enjoying a beautiful quote by Leo….people kept asking him about his success and that’s what he finally added – I suppose he was talking about his “luck factor” to some extent….You are most most welcome. What a beautiful compliment. Welcome to prolific living and I hope to see you again!
What a neat format! I love seeing all the quotes together like this.
Sonia, so lovely to see you here. I hope I captured your fantastic words well – and so happy you enjoyed this post. Welcome to Prolific Living and thank you for the lasting inspiration from blogworld!
I had serious #BWE10 envy and this series? Almost makes up for it! Thanks Farnoosh for the time, commitment and generosity in sharing these awesome quotes with all of us who were there in spirit
When Scott said, “People buy awesome.” did you realize he was talking about you?
Hi dear Sandi, my goal was to bring back as much of blogworld back for my readers as possible – welcome to prolific living. You are most welcome, I am so happy all the work was oh so very much worth it. Scott’s most amazing quote – “People spread awesome” – struck such a chord with me, you are too kind to attribute it to yours truly. Hope to see you again here soon. Many thanks!
Love fiding your blog courtesy of @Sonia’s tweet, and eager for your email updates — thanks for all this work, you really captured a sense of the event, of the great energy and tone to the loooong weekend. And if you’re a new photographer, oh honey, you’ve got a natural eye, swell shots~!
Can’t wait for Parts II and III ~!
Dear @TheGirlPie, Sonia was so kind to RT this and a warm welcome to you for you subscribing to updates. I had better work hard on parts 2 and 3! I am a very amateur photographer – in fact, my tag line is that “I try to take photos that don’t suck!” –
but thank you so much for the compliment……And welcome again! You made my day with all this!
Great post, some really inspirational quotes here.
I really like this one:
“The bikini concept: You can show just about everything but people will pay to see the rest!”
Hi there, sorry you ended up in my silly spam folder but so glad I caught it. Yes there was also a photo of Betty Page in her cute bikini on a large slide….all the make the concept unforgettable
! Thank you for your comment and welcome to prolific living!
Oh no, no idea why that might of happened but thanks for checking and finding it!
I’ll be sure to have a look at some of your other blog posts over the next few days.
Please follow me on Twitter if you get the chance
@tomdurkinblog
What an awesome way you have of putting these inspiring quotes into such a great format! Fantastic! For a 1st year blogger who couldn’t attend BWE, I really appreciate this. I will definitely bookmark and come back when I am frustrated or feel lost in my blogging venture!
Thanks again!
Bernice
I am sorry Farnoosh, I did not see the commentluv! Not enough coffee yet!
Hi Bernice, thanks so much for your comment- and welcome to the blogging world. As Sonia said, enjoy and make the most of the beginning stages because this sweet time is fleeting and it is indeed a wonderful time. Thank you for enjoying the post and for your comment. Come back anytime, Bernice!
Thanks for putting together these comments. Wish I could have been there!!
Dear Kate, you are most welcome. Hope to see you next year and until then, watch for posts 2 and 3 in the series about Blogworld. Welcome to Prolific Living!
Excellent write up, Farnoosh. It was wonderful meeting you at Blogworld. I can’t wait to see how you implement all you learned. It’s exciting to be back home with all this new info, isn’t it?
Dear Michelle,
It was very nice to meet you in Vegas. Thanks for your lovely comment. Yes it is very exciting to be home – in fact, hard to contain it all. It’ll take me a while to implement the techie side but the inspiration is pushing me through quite nicely for now!
Farnoosh,
This is truly a gift. One that I could actually print off and make a little book to return to time and time again for inspiration. You’ve out done yourself! I love Emma’s comment about traveling light and coming back with all of this!
I’m grateful.
Dear Tess, hi! I am so happy you enjoyed it- and yet so sad we did not meet in person – although it is fantastic you and Lance are having your own meet-up soon (right?) – you are most welcome and I am twice as grateful for having all of you reap some benefit from the wisdom of our speakers. Thanks for your comment!
Excellent information Farnoosh. It sounds like there was some great ideas flowing. As a new blogger I need alot of help and any and all information is welcome. My favorite quotes come from Scott. Number 70 and 71. Thinking of my blog in smaller terms makes it seem more manageable. And there is always something to write about. It may not belong on my blog but it is from this free flow writing that I have discovered more blog topics.
I will be book, marking this page and using it as a reference tool.
Thanks for putting it together.
Peace—Annette
Dear Annette, I am so happy to see you here – and so glad you took something away from these wonderful quotes. I think of myself as a drop in the ocean of blogging but it is one big friendly ocean and we will all find our way to the shore of our dreams very soon……hang in there and come back to visit anytime!
That’s so cool and informative and wonderful and amazing and awesome and ….(okay too many adjectives will ruin the sentence), but you get the point.
Thank you for sharing all this with us who weren’t there.
That is so hardly too many adjectives – I am open to many more words of praise
! Oh you are so so welcome, Abubakar, and it’s too bad you weren’t there but please let’s do something for next year so you show up – I am thinking of speaking and giving a session. Incentive enough?
Great to see you here!
These are really great Farnoosh. We have all seen books of inspirational quotes, but this is the first time I have seen quotes dedicated entirely to blogging! This just may be the structure to a best-selling how-to book.
Great words of wisdom: 26. “The Internet makes money for you when you build something that is real and when it matters to people!”
We simply cannot reap the harvest if we are not sowing seeds!
Hi Rob, so nice to see you – thank you so much. Yes this is dedicated *mostly* to blogging but I really think you can apply it to life too. I love the motivation you give me about writing that best-seller
– I could not take credit for the quotes ….. Nice pick on #26. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Wow what a great recap! I’m still reeling from all the awesomeness myself, but I love the way you put this together… especially for those of us who didn’t take as complete notes as you did.
I am SO glad we got to meet in person, woohoo!
Nathalie, thank you! So glad you enjoyed the list – I was taking notes on my new iPad like crazy – bottom line: iPad works great for conferencing.
Yes I am ever so happy to have met you and just wait til my Part 2 of Blogworld series where you are being especially featured…..photo and all….due out on Friday. Thanks for dropping by and for your lovely comment!
Hiya!
Great post, look forward to the next one.
It was a pleasure to meet and chat with you in Vegas.
Hope you had an awesome time. Lets stay in touch!
Chris
Hi Chris, likewise. I had a great time and still reeling from the excitement. Part 2 is out soon – Friday! Thanks for dropping by and hope to see you again soon!
Great to meet you …any best quotes from my session?
Hi Barry, nice to meet you too – yes I am saving yours for the 3rd part of this series so I hope you are my newest subscriber yet! Enjoyed your session much.
Thanks for taking such great notes! I am giving a talk about my learnings at BWE and a few of your quotes have brought back some excellent ideas. Funny, I also went to many of the same sessions – you have great taste!
Hi Edwin, too bad we did not meet in person – to be honest, some of my sessions were not that great but the ones that were more than made up for it. I will go into more detail in everything on the 3rd part of the series, thanks for your comment and best of luck with that talk!
Thanks Farnoosh for this wonderful write up , and the gorgeous photos. I love some of the quotes, including:
13. “Kill your pop-ups!” [Oh, yes please!]
47. “You have to write about something you care about and do it in a way that people (your people) care about. Be entertaining and useful or just really damn useful!” [Love this!]
57. “What does your reader want? They want good content, inspiration, a laugh. They are not there to see the ads or the widgets. They tolerate those for the content.” [Absolutely]
BUT, to be honest – if you don’t mind, Farnoosh – it sounds a bit overwhelmingly commercial to me, as though blogging is all about monetising/selling/making money. Can’t we just do it for fun? Isn’t that what a lot of us are doing or have I lost the plot somewhere? Am I supposed to be wanting to grow, grow, grow and make money? Is Blogworld for the likes of me, do you think? (Not that I’d get there, living where I do, of course).
I hope I haven’t offended because I loved the post and look forward to the rest.
You’d have to try very hard to offend, Sue!
Expressing your thoughts is what blogging and comment is all about – Well, the conference is focused on many aspects but there are many who want to treat their blog as a business and we had success stories where the speakers had achieved that so they naturally shared those stories. I think Darren did specifically say that if you want to treat your blog as a hobby, that’s fine but otherwise, treat it as a business. Blogworld could be for you if you choose your sessions wisely – I did not go to a lot of monetization focused sessions but that does not mean I don’t wish to grow the blog at all – there is a lot about just learning to write great content, attracting readers (which all of us may want, otherwise who are we writing for besides our friends – but then again, you may just be happy with your small circle and even THEN, you may be able to take away tips on writing great content to please that small circle.) So to each his own – we have different needs for the blog. To me, these speakers did not at all commercialize – they shared passionate stories of success and we can take that advice into any direction we wish. I like the quotes you selected by the way!
Thanks Farnoosh. I knew you would respond with an understanding of the spirit I intended, otherwise I wouldn’t have made the comment. As I’m sure you realise I have no problems with people wanting to monetise – each certainly to their own – but I was concerned that that might have been ALL that blogworld was about. I’m really glad to hear it wasn’t.
I do agree that we like people like what we read. My original aim was, really, to write for myself – I saw the blog providing a discipline that just writing a little word doc wasn’t doing for me. However, I haven’t even promoted it to my friends (though a couple have sussed me out), or put it on my Facebook page. That said, I am finding that it is nice to have readers and I certainly would enjoy presentations on writing and presentation tips if only because it is fun to explore ways of writing and doing things.
So, thanks as ever for your kind and thoughtful response.
Dear Sue, how funny you say that – I originally said that I am writing for me too. I don’t think I am only writing for me anymore because it’s too much fun and joy to also write for others….I have a higher aim, wherever it might take me. But one thing bothers me – your friends who do not support you, are they really true friends? What you are doing with the blog is courageous, beautiful and especially with your aim to promote the art of reading….And I’d love to see a Facebook fan page and a Twitter from you, Sue, whenever you are ready….Keep doing your brilliant stuff! We read, we do!
Thanks so much again for your encouragement Farnoosh. But I must clarify – it’s not that my friends don’t support me but that I don’t promote my blog to them. I’m very self-conscious about it. I’ve been in online communities for a long time – since I joined an online bookgroup in 1997. I have told my friends about my activities in those groups over the years, but most of them just don’t get the fascination or understand the enjoyment – so I don’t talk about my blog. They are very dear friends though and provide wonderful support to me in all sorts of ways – so please don’t worry about me!
Hi Sue, Ok I guess this phrase got me “though a couple have sussed me out” – No matter, I am most happy that you have friends who support you (even if they don’t understand the blogging thing – mine are mostly on the same boat too – supportive but slightly confused
)! Lovely chatting with you as always!
Moi aussi …
BTW The ‘sussing’ is things like a friend was recently searching for a review on the web and discovered mine and worked out it was me. She sat up for hours reading the blog then – long after her husband went to bed which was a bit of a thrill really. Next I have to get her to comment. Anyhow, that’s the sort of thing I meant about sussing… (No need to reply, just wanted to explain “sussing”!)
You have so many great posts, but this one is a hallmark.
You’ve created a new, compelling experience … a unique combination of your super skill combined with some slices of life. It’s the perfect mash up of your magic of imagery with a choice set of quotes, while setting the stage with your pithy and precise intro of each speaker.
Fantastic.
Thank you dear J.D., I really appreciate the kind words – it was easy to do this when so much inspiration and sincerity was before us at Blogworld during these particular sessions. Your encouragement will help me push past the overwhelming exhaustion this week and get part 2 out so a special thanks, J.D., and nice to see you here!
I just wanted to thank you so much for sharing these quotes and comments from blogworld and these bloggers… it was as preciously informative as it was transpiring with passion and live… love and kindness… sharing and offerings…
Thank you so much again Farnoosh!
Amities,
pascal
Pascal, I am so happy you read and enjoyed them. They were quite the inspiration. It’s lovely seeing you here with your encouragement and support for the blog and you are most welcome. Merci mille fois comme toujours!
Farnoosh,
This is a awesome post. Really made me wish I had gone! -there is always next year- You did a wonderful job pulling out some great and interesting quotes. I was quite enthralled by it all.
Thanks for some wonderful Information on blogword expo! Now I want to hear more…
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Steve, there is absolutely always next year! I am so glad you enjoyed these quotes – they were delivered superbly but even without all that, the content was pure genius from these great thinkers and leaders. You are most welcome. You shall hear more as I am writing parts 2 and 3……thanks for your comment!
Farnoosh,
Thank you for taking the time to share these quotes. There are so many great ones, it’s difficult to choose a favorite. Though one that sticks out to me is: Blog with passion, passion spreads. If we aren’t passionate about our blogging it will show, and also what is the point if we aren’t passionate?
Stacy
Stacy, that first one is fantastic. Passion spreads……Right along the lines of what Scott Stratten said: People spread awesome. You are most welcome and I am so very glad you enjoyed these. There is really no point if we aren’t passionate but we know well that we get sucked into obligations at times…..here’s hoping we set the right trend moving forward every single time. Thanks for your comment!
Wow. Very helpful. Thanks for this
My Favorite is
51. “The lesson isn’t that you should be the next Zen Habits; the lesson is that you start something from nothing.”
by Leo Babauta
Hi Allen, great choice for your favorite….I remember when Leo said that and he looked extremely sincere about it – Indeed we need to find our own glory!
Thanks for your comment and welcome to prolific living!
Brilliant stuff Farnoosh. No way I can top this one:)
Dearest Annabel, what a blast we had… Thank you for the vote of confidence. I am beside myself on how popular this post became but truly happy to spread the words from Blogword a bit further than just Las Vegas!
Farnoosh darling..look at this post..see the comments….you go girl! You are going pro blog babe…woohoo….!!!
I await the rest of the series impatiently….
And this is such a wonderful sum up of all that happened there. So awesome that you brought back so much to share with us. Believe me..I have learned more form this one post about blogging than I could’ve learned in months of other reading. So to the point and perfect advice from all these amazing people.
Thank you sweetie..*bow* for your efforts and for reaching the stars
And my favorite among them all is :
59. “You only get lucky if you are good!”-Leo~
Seriously, does it get any simpler than that!
Lots of love and huge hugs,
Z~
p.s. loved your comment reply on my blog sweetie!
Dear Zeenat, what a night. Ok network came back up. I got plenty of sleep and it’s a brand new day. Yes this post did so well and it got published on Darren’s tech paper.li which was very exciting. I am just thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it and learned something and the rest is coming, I promise. Today I hope if I get my act together. Many hugs filled with love sent to you….!
This is truly a great post of quotations! I really like the 1st one, “Stand up for what you believe. Stand out when you do it. Stand together when you build relationships.” Because when you blog, you really have to stand out to get noticed.
Andrew, how nice to see you here. So happy you enjoyed this. Those words were the title of Scott Stratten’s speech and it is how he opened his fantastic key note! Thanks for your thoughts and for leaving a comment!
