Hi Mary Jane,
This is an old post and yet I am so glad to see it is still being read. What a great show it was. Thanks so much for the kind words. I loved it when I first watched it and still, I miss it at times. Nice to see you here!

Farnoosh,

I just discovered this post. You've written the best Lost synopsis ever! I too was let down by the last season, but still love Lost as just awesomely brilliant for all the reasons you described.

My biggest gripe is that they seem to be heading towards some weird meta-physical explanation, rather than sticking with (pseudo) science. (I have the same problem with Stephen King -- he'll build up a great, suspenseful story, but the villain turns out to something ridiculous like a demon or a giant glowing spider...) They've at least tried to explain time-travel, mysterious healing, etc., but I'm dying to see if they can come up with a semi-rational explanation for the smoke monster, the body possession, etc.

I did see that the producers consulted with a CalTech physicist a few days ago, so I remain hopeful. Hang in there; just a few episodes to go!

Only show here too but the final season has me quite disappointed. So much is happening without explanation, without any convincing means to achieve cohesion. I am losing interest! Thanks for the blogs, I am sure you know about Lostpedia.com too! :)

LOST is the only fictional show** that I watch, and I almost regret having started... because I'm hopelessly addicted now. This last season has been fun, and I'm hopeful of a satisfying series finale.

My favorite LOST blog is The Transmission, run by a couple in Hawaii, the show's filming location, so you get plenty of inside, local information.

For grins, check out Never Seen LOST -- it discusses and interprets current episodes of LOST through the eyes of a blogger who has never seen the show prior to this final season. Hilarity ensues.

** Other than cartoons, of course!
