On Friday August 14th, as part of a project for our Toastmasters track, my good friend Leon Bullard, interviewed me on his show “To Your Health” during our club meeting. The show will be recorded and saved here if you wish to listen. Leon embodies good health and wellness. He is a track runner, as well being a great father of 3 children, an accomplished public speaker and an entrepreneur with his budding health business. I am happy to know him. We agreed that we would do this interview in advance and I knew the topic would be my passion for yoga. Beyond that, we did not rehearse once, and I had no idea what questions he was going to ask me! The entire interview was improvised and spontaneous.
As you can see, Leon is supremely poised and comfortable, as though he is recording some 30th edition of his show! I am the honored guest that has the pleasure of being interviewed, while also trying to contain my excitement, rather unsuccessfully. In the background, the banner of Speech Acrobats hangs proudly in bold yellow.
3 Quick Things to Add to the Video Interview:
- First, I had to edit the original interview down to under 10 minutes to meet YouTube standards. The gratitude on assistance here goes to my tremendously patient husband who edited this for me on his fancy Mac Mini!
- Second, I should like to note that while we enjoyed the interview tremendously, our evaluators and videographer pointed out areas that we could polish and improve, so it is entirely possible that we shall have more interviews lined up. For starters, Leon is interviewing me on the subject of overall health on his BlogTalkRadio on August 23rd, Sunday at 4pm EST.
- Last, I am leaving comments open on this post, and love to hear what you think of the video, and what I could do more effectively next time to appeal better to my audience through my passion for the topic.
If you like the interview and might be interested to hear me talk about yoga or other topics on my blog that I live and breath passionately, you know where to find me – and all you have to do is ask!

WOW !, WOW !, WOW !, WOW!, WOW !, WOW !…I really love your energy, your blog, your ideas…super..
I teach tango thru ZEN in Rome, Italy but I have practised Yoga for over 30 years. I am a fanatic about physical fitnesss but I am often said that if I had to choose only one exercise, it would be yoga. I use Yoga breathing and concepts in my tango teaching.
It would be absolutely fantastic to meet you and talk and share ideas and of course dance. Why don’t you and your husband just jump on a plane right now and come. I am sure that I could find you a place to stay among my students. We have a great group that does many social events toegther.
My other passion is video making (well I have many passions…everything for me is a passion I guess)…perhaps I could be of assistance. Here is my latest dance video and I am including my social event video..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i-5X1VPtwec

Thank you, Oscar. The YouTube video was amazing. We were in Rome in 2008 and cannot WAIT to come back.
Your Wordpress site is great–one of the richest use of features I’ve seen.
Saw your comment on Yogadork. Have now subscribed to your blog.

Thank you for the encouraging words, Bob. And Wordpress DOES rock, no doubt about it.
Aloha Farnoosh,
You’ve asked me how I’d know that you guys were probably going back to Mau’i… lucky guess I suppose
I thought I’d be a little creative and answer your question on this post… hopefully you get this. The passion you spoke of about Mau’i (I believe, Hawaii in general) made me so proud to have had my roots propagated here rich within her soil!
You are so right about the people here as well… having a deep connection with the aina (land), remembering ko makou na kupuna (our ancestors), and having Aloha no Akua (a deep love, affection, and appreciation for God), we’ve been blessed to have the spirit of working together in onenesss, a confidence of knowing who we are, and the pure joy we feel in sharing all that we have with anyone we see.
To that end I say to you “E Komo Mai”… Welcome! And once again I know that our “meeting of the minds” will take place when Akua deems it so. Until then my friend…
Aloha No!
Cain
Aloha to you Cain,
You couldn’t have said it better – Hawaii is paradise on earth, and I feel confident saying that (I generally travel 100,000 miles a year usually to new places!) There is a divinity about it. Mother Nature has blessed the islands of Hawaii far above any other of her children, I believe – and seeing it again only makes it more difficult to leave, and it makes coming back filled with anticipation – thank you for sharing some of the Hawaii culture and expressions here.
